According to a report by thenff.com on Monday, October 12, 2026, Nigeria have invited a strong 23-man squad for the 2026 FIFA U-15 Youth World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan.

Head coach Patrick Bassey selected the players from various academies, clubs, schools, and the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

The squad comprises two goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards.

The invited players are expected to report to the NFF/FIFA Goal Project Hostel inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, October 13.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, from October 22 to 31, with Nigeria’s U-15 boys set to represent the country at the youth football event.

Bassey, who is associated with Bichi First FC, will lead the team’s preparations, assisted by Husaini Lawan Umar and Augustine Iyamu.

The NFF has instructed the invited players to arrive at camp with appropriate football boots for artificial turf, which will be used during training sessions in Abuja and Baku.

The federation has also advised state football associations, clubs, academies, schools, and the parents or guardians of the selected players to bring them to the camp personally.
