“My Wife And I Have Not Separated” — Okey Bakassi Reacts As False Marriage Report Goes Viral

Popular comedian and Nollywood actor, Okey Bakassi, has reacted to reports alleging that his marriage has collapsed, describing the claims as false and insisting that he and his wife are still together, as reported by VANGUARD on Tuesday October 12 2026.

Bakassi, in a video message said someone had published a misleading report using his name and pictures of him and his wife to claim that they had gone their separate ways.

The report alleged that his wife had relocated to the United States to study nursing while he remained in Nigeria, sending money to support her education for 15 years before she allegedly requested a divorce.

However, the actor dismissed the report, saying it had caused concern among friends, family members and fans, who contacted him and his wife from different parts of the world to confirm the claims.

Bakassi explained that the incident might have been linked to a video he made about Nigerian politics, which he said was taken out of context and presented with a misleading narrative.

He added that he was on a movie set with his colleagues when the report began circulating on social media, accusing those responsible of trying to disrespect him and his family.

Reassuring his fans and loved ones, Bakassi said, “My wife and I, we are still together. God forbid anything will ever happen to us.”
