The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it will inaugurate President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council on Wednesday, 14 October, as the party steps up preparations for the next presidential election.
The party announced this in a press statement issued on Monday by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
INEC has scheduled the presidential election for 16 January, 2027.
According to the statement, the inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) will inaugurate the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja,” the statement said.
The party said the list of members of the various directorates expected to attend the inauguration would be released shortly.
The Presidential Campaign Council is expected to coordinate the APC’s campaign activities ahead of the 2027 election, including mobilising party members and supporters, communicating the party’s manifesto and the administration’s policies, engaging voters across the country and coordinating campaign events.
It is also expected to oversee campaign messaging, media engagement and collaboration among party leaders, elected officials and state campaign structures to promote Mr Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Mr Tinubu, who won the 2023 presidential election on the APC platform, is seeking a second term in office in 2027 alongside his deputy, Kashim Shettima.
