You Are the Man–Onasis Kobby Praise Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo Over Handling of NPA Fuel Pricing Situation
Social media commentator Onasis Kobby has heaped praise on Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo over what he describes as his admirable handling of the country’s fuel pricing situation.
In a post shared on Facebook, Kobby wrote: “You are the man!! Your handling of our situation is simply admirable. Keep holding us down. The super powers are going through what they never anticipated,” adding the hashtag #y3bre_ny3_kwa.
The post was accompanied by a document from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) setting out the Ex-Pump Price Floors for the period 16th to 31st October 2026.
According to the NPA notice, the ex-pump price floors are as follows: Petrol at GH¢16.09 per litre, Diesel at GH¢17.09 per litre, LPG at GH¢13.87 per kilogram, MGO Local at GH¢17.20, and Kerosene at GH¢17.45.
The Authority explained that, in line with the Petroleum Product Pricing Guidelines (PPPG), all Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and LPG Marketing Companies (LPGMCs) are required to comply with the stated price floors for the period under consideration.
The NPA further clarified that the price floors exclude the premiums charged by International Oil Trading Companies (IOTCs) and the operating margins of BIDECs, as well as the marketers’ and dealers’ margins of OMCs and LPGMCs. These, it noted, will be independently determined by the companies as pertains under the PPPG.
The document was dated 12th October 2026.
The publication of the price floors forms part of the NPA’s routine regulatory function of setting minimum ex-pump prices to ensure stability and fair competition in the downstream petroleum sector. The notice is expected to guide pricing decisions by marketers for the second half of October.
Kobby’s endorsement reflects the heightened public interest in fuel pricing and the management of the petroleum sector, which remains a key driver of Ghana’s cost of living and economic outlook. The post attracted a wave of engagement, with 126 reactions, 22 comments, and 28 shares at the time of writing.
As the pricing window takes effect, consumers and industry players will be watching closely to see how the announced floors translate into pump prices across the country.
