With both teams having legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, the game lived up to the billing and went to an overtime classic.
Ultimately, the Bills won 37-34, marking Josh Allen’s first overtime win and breaking his OT curse. Meanwhile, NFL fans spotted his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, in the stands earlier in the game, which immediately led to some heartwarming reactions for the couple.
In recent years, three of the biggest names in pop culture have gotten engaged/married to NFL players. As a result, the sight of Taylor Swift, Madison Beer, or Hailee Steinfeld in the stands has become all too common.
This week, it was Steinfeld, who was at SoFi Stadium when the Bills took on the Rams. Extremely animated during the action, she could be seen cheering loudly for her husband. Her presence helped the team as well, as they pulled off an unlikely win in overtime.
“She got the opposite of the Madison Beer effect,”the official account of Prize Picks joked, pointing to the 0-5 start the Los Angeles Chargers have had this season, even as Beer has cheered on Justin Herbert constantly.
“Hell yeah,” another fan responded, loving her passion for the sport. “Look at her enthusiasm.”
While Swift’s appearances during the broadcast for Kansas City Chiefs games have led to some backlash, one fan predicted, “Everybody is gonna run to say Hailee >>> Taylor Swift.”

His prediction turned out to be accurate as another fan wrote, “I’d rather see Hailee than Taylor Swift for real,” a sentiment that was echoed by a fan who claimed, “Hailee Steinfeld > Taylor Swift.”
The stark difference in reactions for the two celebrities was hard to miss. But with Steinfeld rarely being shown on the broadcast during games, the novelty of her appearance in the stands hasn’t worn off.
Instead, it was a love fest across social media for her, particularly with the Bills walking away with a 37-34 victory after blocking a field goal attempt from the Rams that could have ended the game in overtime.
Much like Taylor Swift, who has often been dubbed the Chiefs’ ‘lucky charm’ because of the team’s impressive win rate when she attends games, the Bills fans may have found a lucky charm of their own.
