According to a post shared on his official Instagram account, @okeybakassi, on Monday, October 12, 2026, Nigerian comedian and actor Okey Bakassi has debunked reports alleging that his wife ended their marriage after relocating to the United States with their children.

The reports, which emerged earlier in the day, claimed that Okey Bakassi had sent his wife and children to the US while remaining in Nigeria and paying their school fees. The allegations further claimed that his wife later contacted him and informed him that she no longer wanted to continue with their marriage.

Reacting to the reports, the comedian expressed disappointment over the circulation of what he described as fake news about his family. He condemned the spread of false information for the purpose of attracting views and creating viral content on social media.

Okey Bakassi urged his family members, friends and fans to disregard the reports, insisting that there were no issues between him and his wife. He described the allegations as the work of people spreading harmful information and appealed to the public to help report the X, formerly Twitter, page responsible for originating the story.

Reassuring the public, the actor maintained that his family remained intact and in God’s hands.
