FIRST ALERTS in effect for a few days this week

(WBNG) – We have issued several FIRST ALERTS for the week ahead. The first of which is Tuesday. A series of fronts and troughs will be in our area Tuesday and could possibly bring some rain and maybe even a few storms. The risk of a severe storm is very low, but non-zero.

When looking at a risk of severe weather in the forecast, we look for several ingredients to be present. In the below graphic, the one that isn’t a slam dunk is sufficient instability being able to develop. Even if all 4 ingredients are met, this does NOT guarantee severe weather develops; there are very few absolutes in meteorology.

Here is a quick-look at what could happen during the day, broken down into chunks of time through the day.

The next 7 days shows several bumps in the road. The first is Tuesday with a very small risk of a severe storm. The next bump, which will be felt by the entire area, is a shot of blustery weather to start the weekend. Wind chills may be in the 20s and winds could gust to 40+mph if things line up the way they look now, on Monday.
