Pandora Paper:They Said They Found $500M,I Said If You Find $12M There I’ll Take A Life Sentence—Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has spoken about the controversy surrounding his name in the Pandora Papers, a collection of documents that revealed the offshore assets and accounts of wealthy and powerful people.

In an interview with BBC, Obi said three former British prime ministers were also mentioned in the documents. He said he does not have up to $500 million in offshore accounts as some people have alleged.

Obi challenged those making the claim to find even 12 million dollars in offshore accounts belonging to him. He stated that he is willing to face a life sentence if they can find that amount.

In Obi’s words: “They said they found in it 500 million dollars. When I told them that if you go there and find two and half percent of what you claim which is about 12 million dollars I will take a life sentence”
