Paul Pogba makes feelings clear on Man Utd’s Manager Michael Carrick
According to a report by Metro on Monday October 12, 2026, Paul Pogba has urged Manchester United to give Michael Carrick more time as manager despite the club’s disappointing start to the Premier League season.
United have won just one of their first six league matches and were recently held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham at Old Trafford. They have also been eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Brighton, increasing the pressure on Carrick.
However, Pogba, who played alongside Carrick at United before later working under him as a coach, believes the manager deserves patience and time to turn things around.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Pogba said: “It’s just the start of the season, there’s nothing much to say, it’s just the start of the season and the season is very long.”
The Frenchman also pointed out that Carrick received praise when he initially took charge last season, but is now facing criticism because results have not gone his way.
“He showed last season when he came, everybody said he was the manager that will change everything. Now that the results don’t come they say maybe he’s too young,” Pogba added.
“One day or the other it can change a lot, they just have to give them time and it will be fine.”
Pogba’s comments come as questions grow over Carrick’s future following United’s poor results. The former midfielder remains hopeful that his ex-teammate can improve the team’s performances if the club gives him sufficient time.
