Show Your Evidence or Face Court — Tribe Fest CEO Tells Sports Minister Over $611K Claim

Chief Executive of Tribe Culture Fest, Nana Boateng Gyimah, has threatened to sue the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, if he fails to prove that his organisation illegally took US$611,000.

In a strong statement issued on October 12, 2026, Gyimah completely denied the allegation. He said his organisation never received $611,000 from any private individual in connection with the World Cup.

He is now challenging the Minister to produce hard evidence.

“What agreement? What authorisation? Who paid the money, who received it, and when?” Gyimah asked. He wants the Minister to show any signed contract linking Tribe Culture Fest to the money, any official approval or consent, and verifiable bank or payment records that explain how the figure of $611,000 was reached.

According to Gyimah, the Minister’s claims are false, unsubstantiated, and have damaged his personal reputation and the integrity of his business. He has given Kofi Adams two options — provide the evidence, or withdraw the allegation, correct the public record, and apologise. If he fails to do both, Gyimah says his lawyers will take legal action.

The Minister, on the other hand, has been firm. In an interview on Joy TV, Kofi Adams alleged that Nana Boateng Gyimah illegally collected about $611,000 under an arrangement involving the National Sports Authority to transport Ghanaians to the 2026 World Cup.

The Minister claimed the CEO is now pushing different narratives to avoid refunding the cash. He warned that “He cannot run away with $611,000 of people’s money” and said if investigations show that people were deceived, criminal action must be taken against him.

Adams also accused Gyimah of feeding information to the Minority in Parliament, specifically to MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah of Old Tafo, to divert public attention from the money.

The clash is part of a bigger controversy surrounding visa applications, travel packages, and alleged fraud linked to Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

For now, Ghanaians are waiting — will the Minister show the receipt, or will the case go to court?
