Ugg's catalog of cozy footwear is now vast and varied. But for many fans of the brand, it remains synonymous with just two styles: the classic ankle boot and simple slip-on.

But who is to say it can't have a bit of fun with those two templates?

Ahead of fall, the brand has teamed up with none other than Jonathan Anderson to bring the celebrated designer's discerning point of view to the classic Ugg silhouettes.

"Ugg boots are instantly recognizable," Anderson said in a statement. "For me, collaboration is about experimentation, bringing two distinct points of view together and seeing where that leads."

Together, the added details and new colorways showcase Anderson's affinity for bold, saturated hues and heritage cues, though sometimes exaggerated in unexpected ways.

After 11 years at Spanish fashion house Loewe, the designer is now the creative director at Dior.

However, he frequently collaborates with brands on the more accessible end of the style spectrum. For example, he maintains an ongoing partnership with Japanese retailer Uniqlo.

The Ugg JW Anderson Loafer Boot and JW Anderson Loafer go on sale October 15 via the official websites of both Ugg and JW Anderson.

They cost $400 and $300, respectively, and are likely to sell out quickly.
