A fresh batch of 30 singles hopes to become “newlywed New Englanders,” and fans of the Netflix reality series got to catch a glimpse of them ahead of the season’s October 14 premiere.

Fans are already intrigued by one of those singles, 33-year-old account executive John Shannon. During the Season 11 trailer, John reveals a bombshell detail that could make or break his experience with the show’s infamous experiment. Here’s what we know about John Shannon as Love Is Blind season 11 hits Netflix.

During one of his dates in the pods, John revealed that he had recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) ahead of the experiment.

“I found out this year I have MS,” he shared, adding, “I totally understand if that’s, like, a dealbreaker for you.”

He got more vulnerable later in the conversation, as he admitted, “I fear my body falling apart. I hope you’re game for that.”

According to the University of Alabama, MS is a “chronic, unpredictable autoimmune disease” that affects your brain and spinal cord, AKA your central nervous system.

The condition is usually detected in adults between ages 20 and 40 and includes a variety of physical and mental symptoms.

According to research conducted by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, symptoms include vision problems, muscle weakness, dizziness, bladder control problems, fatigue, mood changes, cognitive changes, and tingling/numbness/pain in the arms, legs, trunk, and face.

It’s still early days, so we’ll have to see how John’s story pans out on Love Is Blind season 11. In the meantime, his best friend/dog, Jude, has an announcement:
