Trump Accused of Controversial Move Toward Melania After Report They’re ‘Completely Estranged’ & ‘Not in a Healthy Place’

Rumors of marriage trouble have been swirling for a long time, and with the added controversy regarding Trump’s relationship with aide Natalie Harp, speculation has only intensified. At a rally in Tennessee on October 10, the president made the following comments about his wife: “You know, my wife hates it when I do this,” he said before moving his arms up and down. “She said, ‘Do you have to do that with the fists, and this.’”

“‘Sir, you know,’” he recalled. “She says it’s not at all elegant. She said it’s not Presidential. I said, ‘It may not be Presidential but I won the election in a landslide, OK, that’s all I know.’”

Trump continued, “But she said, ‘I don’t like it when you do the weight lifting, I don’t like it when you do the swimming’.”

He went on to call Melania a “very elegant woman,” and then spoke about her eponymous documentary—which, in classic Trump style, came with a joke. “I don’t like that it’s the number one movie, you know why? There is only room, and I mean this, there is only room for one star in a family, so I don’t need this movie stuff.”

At a previous rally on October 7, Trump seemed to also suggest Melania referred to him as “sir” as he criticized James Talarico. As he recalled Melania correcting him on his pronunciation of the word vegan, he told the audience, “You know, my wife told me, ‘Sir, do me a favor. You have to do me just a little bit of favor. It’s not ‘vay-gun,’ it’s ‘vee-gn.’ I don’t know about that stuff. I’m not into it… How the hell would I know? I like steak.”

These strange “sir” comments come after political commentator David Pakman cast doubt on comments Melania made on Fox & Friends about Trump’s schedule. “How would Melania know that Trump is working from morning until evening?” he asked, claiming that the couple rarely sees each other and there’s “reason to believe she’s completely estranged” from Trump.

“It seems as though they are mostly living separately,” Pakman explained. “They have separate bedrooms, when they’re even in the same building.”

Pakman isn’t the first person to suggest this. Trump biographer Michael Wolff had previously alleged that Trump and Melania “barely speak” these days. Meanwhile, relationship expert Gemma Logan told The Irish Star that Trump and Melania’s relationship is likely “not in a healthy place.”

“A marriage where two people are reportedly barely speaking is clearly not in a healthy place. Communication is the heartbeat of any long term relationship,” she said.
