The 29-year-old Tsa RSA appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates Court on Monday, 12 October, facing charges of possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The state alleged that Tsaka RSA was found in possession of a firearm with its serial number filed off and 52 rounds of ammunition.

The musician previously attracted public attention over controversial social media posts, including alleged insults directed at public figures.

He was arrested at his home in Rethabile Gardens, Polokwane, on Friday, 9 October, during an intelligence-driven operation.

The case reportedly stems from allegations that Tsaka RSA posted vulgar and insulting remarks directed at a Thobela FM presenter on social media.

During the proceedings, state prosecutor Mangope Digoro told the court that Tsaka RSA was facing a schedule five offence and indicated that the state intended to oppose bail.

Schedule five offences include serious crimes such as murder, rape, armed robbery and fraud, among others.

“During the operation, officers allegedly found him in possession of a 9mm Norinco pistol with its serial number filed off, as well as ammunition,” said Digoro.

Tsaka RSA’s legal team, led by Advocate Mamabolo, questioned the decision to classify the case as a schedule five offence, arguing that the state hadn’t yet provided a ballistic report confirming the type of firearm allegedly found in his possession.

Presiding Magistrate Mpho Hadebe postponed the matter to Monday, 19 October for profiling and a formal bail application.

Meanwhile, Tsaka RSA is expected to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 13 October, in connection with the crimen injuria case involving the Thobela FM presenter.
