Revealed: Here Are The Names Of Government Officials Who Were In A Chopper That Crashed In Kericho, There Status Explained

Environment PS Festus Ng’eno Among Occupants as Helicopter Crashes at Kericho Golf Club

A helicopter crashed at the Kericho Golf Club on Monday afternoon, and there are reports it was carrying senior government officials. All on board are reported to have survived.

Citizen Digital established that Environment Principal Secretary Festus K. Ng’eno was among the passengers. Reports say the aircraft came down within the golf club compound shortly after takeoff.

Kericho County Police Commander Kivindu Kilonzo said no fatalities were reported, although several occupants sustained injuries. The occupants were taken to hospital for medical assessment and were reported to be in safe condition.

The number of people on board is not consistent across reports. Citizen Digital’s sources say six people were aboard. Kenyans.co.ke and other outlets reported five occupants. One outlet identified the aircraft, registration 5Y-FSK, as a Kenya Forest Service helicopter. The identities of the other occupants have not been officially confirmed.

Preliminary information indicates poor weather may have contributed, but the cause has not been officially established. Investigators from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority are reportedly heading to the scene to examine the wreckage.

The crash comes after a series of deadly helicopter accidents in recent weeks. In August 2026, a crash near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County killed all seven people on board. Aviation stakeholders have continued to raise concerns about flight safety in bad weather.

Authorities are expected to release more details on the occupants’ condition and the cause of the crash as the investigation proceeds.
