Coastal Road: When We Tell You The Truth About Scam Of This Govt, You Refused To Believe Us—Sowore
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing its policies and projects as deceptive and accusing the government of failing Nigerians.
Sowore made the remarks in a post on X while reiterating his criticism of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, which he described as a ruse from the beginning.
“When we tell you the truth about the scams, deception, and failures of the Tinubu regime, you refuse to believe us. By the time reality catches up with you, you begin to regret ignoring the warnings. The COASTAL HIGHWAY was a ruse from the beginning,” he wrote.
The activist’s comments come amid reports that the coastal highway project would no longer follow the coastal route beyond Lagos and Ogun states, but would instead take an inland detour through Edo State to connect with the East-West Road.
Minister of Works David Umahi reportedly described the proposed route adjustment as “a wonderful engineering decision by Mr President,” referring to Tinubu.
Sowore’s reaction suggests that he views the reported change as supporting his longstanding criticism of the project. However, the claim that the highway was a ruse remains his position, and the reported route adjustment alone does not establish that the entire project was deceptive.
The AAC presidential candidate, who is expected to challenge Tinubu and other contenders in the 2027 general election, has continued to use social media to criticise the administration and urge Nigerians to question its policies and claims.
His post, accompanied by the hashtag #Sowore2027, also appears to reinforce his political campaign as preparations for the next presidential election gather momentum.
