WATCH: Jayden Adams’s Son’s Joyful Dance as Sundowns Lift MTN8 Cup After Beating Pirates

A short video of Jayden Adams’s young son dancing and celebrating has touched many Sundowns fans after the team beat Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the MTN8 Cup Final on Saturday night.

The little boy, wearing a bright red Spider-Man T-shirt, is seen jumping, pointing and raising his arms in front of a big television screen that showed the match and the yellow-clad supporters at Moses Mabhida Stadium. In the same clip, a smiling picture of his late father, Jayden Adams, appears in the foreground wearing his Sundowns jersey and holding a trophy. The video quickly spread on social media, with many people saying it felt like the boy was celebrating for his dad.

Mamelodi Sundowns ended Orlando Pirates’ four-year run as MTN8 champions with goals from Teboho Mokoena in the first half and Iqraam Rayners from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time. The win also gave Portuguese coach Miguel Cardoso his first domestic cup trophy with the club. After the final whistle, several players and officials spoke about the late Jayden Adams, with teammate Cassius Mailula dedicating the victory to him.

Jayden Adams was a hard-working defensive midfielder who joined Sundowns from Stellenbosch in 2025. He also represented Bafana Bafana and had just returned from the FIFA World Cup when he passed away in July at the age of 25. The club postponed matches and spoke openly about how difficult it had been to train and play without him. Saturday’s MTN8 success was widely seen as a small moment of light for the squad after a heavy few months.

The video of his son has drawn warm responses from supporters who watched the final. Many comments simply said the boy’s dad would have been proud. For Sundowns fans, the clip has become a quiet reminder that the club’s recent trophy is not only about the scoreline against Pirates, but also about a young child who still finds joy in the yellow and green.

As the team looks ahead to the rest of the season, the image of Jayden Adams’s son celebrating has given supporters something extra to hold onto after a difficult year.
