Peshawar tech entrepreneur uses AI to simplify complex data for global businesses
ISLAMABAD – Abdullah Rashid, a technology entrepreneur from Peshawar, is using artificial intelligence (AI) to help international businesses and research organisations extract reliable information from complex documents, highlighting the growing role of Pakistani professionals in developing practical technology solutions.
Talking to APP, Rashid said AI was transforming how organisations processed large volumes of information, but ensuring accuracy, transparency and verifiability remained a major challenge. “AI-generated information is only useful when people can verify where it came from and understand the context in which it was presented,” he said.

Rashid is the co-founder and chief technology officer of ClearTraced, a Sweden-based AI data company that develops tools to collect and organise information from corporate reports and other published documents.
He said banks, investors and research organisations often had to sift through thousands of pages to identify relevant figures and facts. ClearTraced’s technology was designed to simplify this process by extracting information and linking it to its original source.
However, he explained that identifying a figure alone was insufficient, as its significance depended on factors such as the reporting period, unit of measurement and surrounding context.

To address these challenges, the company combines automated checks with human review, enabling specialists to verify information, identify errors and make corrections before the data is used.
Rashid said the technology was also supporting research into children’s rights. The Global Child Forum was using the company’s tools to gather and organise information from corporate reports for research into how major companies protected and promoted children’s rights. Researchers subsequently assessed the findings using their established methodologies.

He said the application demonstrated how AI could reduce time-consuming, repetitive tasks without replacing human expertise or judgement.
Rashid’s professional journey also includes founding Metasense, a software development company that grew to more than 30 professionals and worked with over 100 start-ups and businesses. He said the experience had helped him understand how to translate emerging technologies into practical solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
He also worked on Look Atlas, an AI-powered product photography platform that enables businesses to generate product and model images for advertising and marketing using photographs of existing products.

Rashid said such images needed to preserve the original products’ shape, material and appearance to avoid misleading customers.
Beyond entrepreneurship, he is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and has contributed to discussions on AI applications in online shopping and business operations. He was also listed among the judges for AI Solution Makers in September 2026.
Rashid said the value of AI should be measured not merely by the speed with which it completed tasks, but also by the accuracy and responsibility with which it delivered results.
He stressed that financial professionals needed accurate figures, researchers required dependable evidence and businesses needed technology capable of addressing practical challenges.
He said AI could make complex tasks more manageable, provided accuracy, transparency and human oversight remained central to its application.
