Texas man arrested in connection with death of wife in Clovis
CURRY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Curry County deputies arrested a Texas man in connection with the death of his wife in Clovis on Friday. Deputies said that at about 4 p.m., deputies were called to the 800 block of Curry Road U in Curry County about a dead body that was found. 39-year-old Jon Quezada of Plainview, TX told the dispatcher that he had found his wife dead in the field.
Deputies made contact with Quezada and another person and were directed to the body of 36-year-old Anna Ulibarri of Clovis. Deputies said she had sustained numerous serious injuries and was dead. Investigators alleged that Quezada and Ulibarri stayed at a hotel in the 2900 block of Mabry Drive in Clovis, near Highway 70, Thursday night.
At about 3 a.m. on Friday, deputies said Ulibarri contacted the hotel front desk and requested security. A short time later, Quezada encountered Ulibarri in the lobby of the hotel, where he threatened her and ordered her to leave the building. While in the parking lot, deputies said Quezada hit Ulibarri and forced her into a vehicle.
Quezada was arrested and booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center for Murder, Kidnapping, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm or destructive device, deputies said.
