Two killed in fatal single-vehicle crash in Barbour County
BARBOUR COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) — Two people have been killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon that took place on Alabama 239 in Barbour County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
According to ALEA, 37-year-old Cedric L. Peebles of Union Springs was driving a 2015 GMC Yukon when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a road sign and flipped over before crashing into a tree.
ALEA says Peebles was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash also claimed the life of 26-year-old Vincent J.T. Devose of Clayton who was riding passenger in the vehicle with Peebles at the time of the crash. Devose was not wearing a seatbelt and was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently leading this investigation.
