Dana White leaks Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight contract detail that allows his involvement

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will meet in a British superfight in front of 80,000 fans at the Principality Stadium.

Dana White has finally explained how is allowed to be involved in the mammoth boxing bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua

The pair of British heavyweights meet at the Principality Stadium on December 11, finally setting their rivalry inside the squared circle.

Around 80,000 are set to be in attendance for the bout, which is expected to have ring walks after 1am to cater to the United States audience watching live on Netflix.

White's involvement in the fight has been regularly questioned by Joshua's long-time promoter Eddie Hearn, who claimed it is in the contract that he cannot have any role.

The UFC chief remains adamant that he is promoting the fight and that has team are also producing it for Netflix.

Fury revealed that he had the same clause as Joshua that White couldn't be involved, but he elected to remove it.

White has now claimed that there was no such clause that he personally could not be involved.

“I know it says that Zuffa and TKO couldn’t be involved,” he told The Sun.

“But it doesn’t say I can’t be, personally.”

White added that he doesn't care "if my name’s on a piece of paper or contract" and that he is involved because both Turki Alalshikh and Netlix wanted him to be.

He appears to be working as a special advisor to Alalshikh, who has backed his Zuffa promotion.

White had been keen for the fight to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City but was unable to get his wish.

Instead, the between two former British world heavyweight champions will take place on UK home soil and demand for tickets was almost unprecedented, with half a million people in the queue.

ÂŁ80 was the price for the very cheapest tickets and the event is effectively a sell-out according to White, who predicts that it will be a record gate for British boxing by some distance.

"I think there's less than 700 tickets left," White told Sky Sports.

"You can consider this thing a sellout already. There were over 500,000 people in the [ticket] queue. Incredible. But for our generation, two of the biggest, most famous heavyweights in boxing.

"And not even arguable it's the biggest UK fight ever between two British heavyweights.

"Definitely. It will. I don't want to mis-speak here but we have this thing scaled for around $34 million [ÂŁ26 million]."

The current gate record for a British boxing bout stands at ÂŁ14 million and also involved Joshua, with that figure amassed in his 2024 defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.

The final fight on the podium was Fury's defeat of Dillian Whyte at Wembley two years earlier.

In world boxing though, the fight is still short of the $70 million Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao produced back in 2015 when they met in Las Vegas.
