SBI assisting homicide investigation after man found dead in Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, N.C. (WITN) – The State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Plymouth Police Department after officials say a man was found dead early Sunday.

Officers and Washington County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a man had been found inside a business, known as Gameroom, at 1220 U.S. Highway 64 West, according to the Plymouth Police Department.

Upon arrival deputies and officers found the man, identified as 37-year-old Sakhr Radwan Taher Maswarah, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting Plymouth police with the investigation.

Police are asking anyone who may have information or has surveillance video from the late night of October 10 or early morning of October 11 to contact the department at 252-793-4680.
