Mixed Reactions As Angry Matiangi Fires Back At Youths Who Heckled Him During Church Service

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has attracted attention after firmly responding to youths who reportedly heckled him during a church service in Nairobi.

The incident occurred as Matiang’i addressed the congregation, with some youths interrupting his speech and creating a tense moment during the gathering.

Visibly displeased by the disruption, the former Cabinet secretary responded firmly, declaring, “Hii nitakomesha!” His remarks appeared to signal his determination to stop the interruptions and continue addressing the congregation.

A video of the incident shared on Facebook has drawn attention to Matiang’i’s reaction, particularly the forceful nature of his response to the youths.

The circumstances surrounding the heckling, including what prompted the youths to interrupt his speech, were not immediately clear. It was also unclear whether the exchange was linked to political differences or other concerns.

Matiang’i remains a prominent figure in Kenya’s political landscape, with his public appearances attracting interest as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Church services and other public gatherings sometimes bring together people with differing political opinions, creating situations in which political figures face criticism or interruptions.

The incident has renewed attention on how leaders respond when confronted by hostile reactions during public engagements.

However, further details are needed to establish the full context of the confrontation and whether any action followed Matiang’i’s remarks.

The former Cabinet secretary’s brief statement has since become the main talking point surrounding the incident.
