ECG Reveals Cause Of Power Outages In Parts Of Ashanti Region, Engineers Deployed To Fix Fault
According to a report by Adom FM on Sunday October 11, 2026, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed the power outages affecting parts of the Ashanti Region to a technical fault at the Anwomaso Bulk Supply Point (BSP).
The company disclosed this in a public notice issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as residents and businesses in affected communities experience disruptions in electricity supply.
According to ECG, the interruption was caused by a technical challenge at the Anwomaso facility, which plays a role in the transmission of electricity to areas within the region.
In its statement, the power distributor said, “The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public in the Ashanti Region that the outage being experienced across parts of the Region is as a result of a technical challenge at the Anwomaso Bulk Supply Point (BSP).”
ECG assured customers that efforts were underway to address the problem, indicating that its technical team had been mobilised to rectify the fault and restore electricity supply to affected areas.
“ECG wishes to assure affected customers that our Engineers are working to rectify the fault and restore supply,” the company added.
The outage has raised concerns among residents and business operators who depend on a stable electricity supply for their daily activities.
Power interruptions can disrupt commercial operations, affect household routines and create difficulties for businesses that rely on electrical equipment to provide essential services.
However, ECG’s notice did not specify the exact communities affected by the technical problem. The company also did not provide a definite timeline for the restoration of electricity supply to all affected areas.
The power distributor acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the disruption and apologised to customers who have been affected.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected customers,” the statement said.
The company’s assurance that engineers are working to resolve the fault is expected to provide some relief to residents and businesses awaiting the restoration of electricity.
Customers in the affected parts of the Ashanti Region will be looking forward to a swift resolution as ECG continues its efforts to stabilise the supply and restore normal service.
The development highlights the impact that technical faults at critical electricity supply facilities can have on communities and businesses that depend on uninterrupted power.
ECG has urged affected customers, through its public notice, to note the ongoing repair efforts, although further details on the progress of the work and the expected restoration time were not immediately available.
