Cyrus Broacha Calls Farah Khan’s Cook Dilip ‘Overrated’, Says His Vlogs Feel Scripted

Farah Khan’s cook Dilip has become a familiar face on social media thanks to the filmmaker and choreographer’s popular YouTube vlogs. However, comedian and actor Cyrus Broacha has offered a contrasting view, saying Dilip’s appearances increasingly seem scripted and lack spontaneity.

Dilip has won over viewers with his natural humour and playful banter with Farah during their videos. But Cyrus believes the cook’s on-screen persona has changed over time, making him appear as though he is constantly acting.

Speaking to actor and improviser Shantanu Anam on his YouTube talk show Cyrus Says, Cyrus admitted that he finds Dilip irritating and questioned the authenticity of his performances.

“I don’t like that guy. He irritates me. He is like acting all the time now. The first couple of times he was nice; otherwise he looks like a fraud to me. I think Farah feeds him the lines and then he says whatever he wants. Sometimes I feel his heart is not in it. He is overrated,” Cyrus said.

Shantanu, however, defended Dilip, expressing his disagreement with the comedian’s assessment.

“You are the only person in the world who doesn’t like Dilip. Dilip is lovable and sweet,” he told Cyrus.

Farah and Dilip continue to entertain audiences through their YouTube vlogs, in which they visit celebrities at their homes, enjoy home-cooked meals and share anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories.

Beyond their on-screen banter, Farah has also spoken about helping Dilip improve his financial circumstances. In 2025, she appeared on actress Soha Ali Khan’s YouTube channel, where she revealed that she had helped him clear his debts and was supporting his efforts to build a house in his hometown in Bihar.

The Om Shanti Om filmmaker also disclosed that Dilip had enrolled his children in an English-medium school.

“He had a lot of debt, I don’t know from where, so one year has gone by just paying off his debt and telling him that he cannot take a loan on interest anymore because whatever I am giving him is going down a well. So I have cleared all his debts, and now he’s building his house. I am trying to get many brands involved so that we give him the house for free,” Farah had said.
