Lionel Messi Reaches 934 Career Goals After Inter Miami Brace Against DC United

According to Fabrizio Romano, published on October 11, 2026, Lionel Messi has taken his career goal tally to 934 after scoring twice in Inter Miami’s 4-0 victory over DC United in Major League Soccer.

The Argentine superstar delivered an impressive performance on Saturday, October 10, helping Inter Miami secure a convincing victory. His two goals contributed to an important result for the club while adding another milestone to his remarkable football career.

Inter Miami made a strong start to the match, with Luis Suarez opening the scoring in the third minute. The former Barcelona striker doubled the advantage in the 39th minute, giving the hosts a comfortable lead before half-time.

Messi extended Inter Miami’s lead shortly after the restart, finding the net in the 47th minute following a pass from Suarez. He completed his brace in the 60th minute after creating space for himself and beating the goalkeeper.

Suarez also finished the match with two goals, meaning the former Barcelona teammates both recorded braces in the same game. Their contributions helped Inter Miami secure a commanding 4-0 result against DC United.

The victory was particularly important because it ended Inter Miami’s five-match winless run. The team had recorded four draws and one defeat during that period before producing a much-improved performance against their opponents.

For Messi, reaching 934 career goals represents another significant achievement in a career that has seen him score for Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Miami and Argentina’s national team. His latest goals also brought him closer to the widely discussed milestone of 1,000 career goals, leaving him 66 short of that figure.

The 39-year-old continues to play an important role in Inter Miami’s attacking play, combining his scoring ability with his vision and creativity. His partnership with Suarez remains a valuable asset as the club continues its MLS campaign.

Inter Miami will hope that this victory provides the momentum needed for the remaining stages of the season. Meanwhile, Messi’s latest brace adds another memorable chapter to his career and reinforces his continued influence on the pitch.
