The government has also issued a notification regarding the appointment of the new provincial chief administrator.

According to the notification, the appointment of Dr Muhammad Fakhre Alam Irfan as Chief Secretary takes effect immediately.

Consequently, the federal government has removed Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah from his post and directed him to report to the Establishment Division immediately.

The government has also issued a formal notification confirming his removal.

In another significant administrative move, the federal government has transferred senior officer Muhammad Yahya Akhunzada and placed his services at the disposal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.

Prior to this transfer, he was serving as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office. The federal government has also issued an official notification regarding the transfer of Muhammad Yahya Akhunzada.

Following approval of President Asif Ali Zardari, Governor’s rule and emergency have been enforced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to maintain law and order.

As per the details, the President has signed the summary for the imposition of an emergency and Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution.

The summary was signed on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The presidential proclamation has cited an extraordinary surge in terrorist incidents and serious security threats as grounds for taking emergency constitutional measures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the proclamation, terrorist attacks on government installations and law enforcement agencies have increased, posing serious risks to security and public order.

The declaration states that the provincial government has failed to take adequate measures to address terrorism and lawlessness.

It further refers to the governor’s report, which reportedly highlighted disruptions in the constitutional system and alleged that the provincial government was not functioning in accordance with the Constitution.
