Tinubu’s US Legal Battle Takes New Turn As Lobby Firm Raises Fresh Allegations
A new development has surfaced in the ongoing legal dispute involving Nigerian President Bola Tinubu in the United States, after US-based lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York announced that additional court-related documents had been released.
According to Daily Post in a report published on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the firm made the announcement through a statement posted on its verified X account.
The lobbying organisation disclosed that a recently filed court document referenced criminal proceedings and media reports concerning allegations against DCI Group, which it described as representing the Tinubu administration in Washington, D.C. The allegations reportedly linked the group to a hacking operation targeting American activists.
According to the claims, the alleged operation involved using stolen information to undermine the credibility of government critics. However, the allegations have not been established as proven facts, and the available information does not indicate that a court has confirmed them.
Von Batten-Montague-York stated that the latest development could have implications for its separate federal lawsuit involving Tinubu, Nigeria’s ambassador to South Africa, Femi Fani-Kayode, and DCI Group.
The firm had earlier alleged that it faced defamatory attacks and statements it considered threatening. These reportedly included references to kidnapping, physical violence, referrals to Nigerian security agencies and possible extradition.
In its latest statement, the organisation raised concerns about foreign interference, the protection of American sovereignty and what it described as transnational repression.
It also referred to the abduction and murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, highlighting what it considers the potential risks faced by individuals who criticise foreign governments.
The lobbying firm maintained that it was taking the situation seriously and indicated that further action could follow.
“We are taking nothing for granted. Stand by for our next course of action,” the firm stated.
