Rs493m Jokhela-Jorr Road project launched in Buner
Peshawar – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Riaz Khan on Saturday inaugurated the Rs493 million Jokhela-to-Jorr road project in Buner district, aimed at improving connectivity and transport facilities for local residents.
He was accompanied by Azmat Khan, brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, former tehsil nazim Sher Alam Khan, village council chairmen, local elders and other community representatives.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister described the road project as an important development initiative that would improve access between localities and facilitate travel for residents.

He said improved road infrastructure was essential for regional development, as better transport links could facilitate mobility, support local trade and stimulate economic activity.
Mr Khan said the provincial government was committed to providing basic amenities and accelerating development in underdeveloped areas. The construction and rehabilitation of link roads, he added, would ease transport difficulties and strengthen connectivity between communities.
He reaffirmed that development projects would continue to be pursued according to public needs, with the aim of improving civic facilities and creating opportunities for economic growth and prosperity.

Local elders and community representatives welcomed the inauguration, describing the project as an important milestone for the area. They expressed hope that the road would improve transport facilities for residents and contribute to the region’s wider development.
