4.2-magnitude earthquake hits Uttarkashi, second in Uttarakhand in four days

Officials of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) said no damage had been reported so farA 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Saturday night (October 10, 2026), sending strong tremors across the Uttarkashi town and the Yamunotri valley.According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake, measuring 4.2, struck at 8.07 p.m., with its epicentre located two km northwest of Uttarkashi at a depth of 11 km.
