New Poll Reveals Gachagua’s Ally Likely To Win Top Seat In 2027, Details
Mohamed Aden, popularly known as The Don, has recorded 30.7 per cent support in a new poll measuring voter preferences in the Thika parliamentary race ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The survey by Swiss Poll International, released on Saturday, October 10, places Aden ahead of Wainaina Njungle, who attracted 26.3 per cent support among respondents.
Aden received 1,365 votes against Njungle’s 1,167, leaving a difference of 198 votes in the survey results.
East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) legislator Maina Karobia followed the two aspirants with 15.8 per cent support, representing 702 respondents.
David Gakuyo received 337 votes, translating to 7.6 per cent, while Nicholas Nderiru secured 286 votes, equivalent to 6.4 per cent.
Ephrahim Wanaina attracted 158 votes, accounting for 3.6 per cent of the responses. A further 426 respondents, representing 9.6 per cent, indicated that they preferred other candidates.
The survey sampled 4,441 respondents across Thika Constituency. Swiss Poll International reported a 95 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
The findings provide an early picture of how the aspirants are positioned in the constituency as political preparations for the 2027 General Election continue.
Although Aden registered the highest percentage in the survey, the results capture respondents’ preferences during the polling period and should not be treated as a final prediction of the election outcome.
Njungle’s second-place showing, alongside Karobia’s support, also reflects the presence of multiple contenders in the race.
With the General Election still ahead, the political contest in Thika remains open to changes as candidates pursue support and voters assess the available options.
