Organisers announce new dates for 2026 Headies award

Organisers of the Headies Awards have confirmed new dates as fans eagerly look forward to the 18th edition scheduled for October 2026.

Organisers of The Headies Awards have officially postponed the 18th edition of the ceremony from October 23, 2026, to April 10–11, 2027.

The announcement means fans, nominees and other stakeholders will now have to wait several more months for one of Nigeria’s biggest music award events.

The 18th Headies had initially been scheduled to take place in October 2026, but the organisers have now moved the event to a two-day window in April 2027.

While the postponement changes the original timeline, anticipation around the ceremony is expected to remain high as attention turns to the new dates and further details about the event.

The Headies has long been one of the most prominent platforms celebrating achievements across Nigerian and African music, recognising artistes, producers, songwriters and other industry professionals.

More information regarding the venue, programme of activities and other arrangements for the rescheduled ceremony is expected to be communicated by the organisers ahead of April 2027.
