My wife knew I dated actresses, yet didn’t fight them – Veteran Yoruba Actor, Yinka Quadri

According to a report by Vanguard on Saturday, October 10, 2026, veteran Yoruba actor Yinka Quadri has spoken about how his wife, Sadiat, handled his relationships with female colleagues in the Nigerian movie industry, revealing that she remained cordial with some of the actresses despite knowing about his romantic involvement with them.

Quadri made the disclosure during an interview with African A List on YouTube, where he recounted incidents in which female colleagues allegedly approached his wife to discuss his relationships with other actresses.

According to the actor, some of the women who spoke to Sadiat about his romantic affairs were also among those he was reportedly dating at the time.

He said his wife was aware of the situation but did not engage in confrontations with the actresses or allow the reports to dictate how she treated them.

“At some point, some female colleagues in the industry will approach my wife to gossip that I’m dating other actresses, even though I’m also dating some of the very actresses who gossip about me. My wife knows about it and doesn’t fight with them,” Quadri said.

The actor further disclosed that Sadiat sometimes welcomed and cared for female colleagues who visited their home after movie productions that ended late at night.

He said his wife would provide food and accommodation for some of the actresses, even when she knew about their alleged romantic relationships with him.

“Sometimes, when we finish production late and some of them come to sleep at my house, my wife feeds and takes care of them despite knowing that I’m dating them,” he added.

Quadri’s account offers a glimpse into his personal life and the relationships that existed among some members of the Yoruba film industry during his career. His comments also highlight the unusual circumstances he says surrounded his marriage and interactions with female colleagues.

The actor did not suggest in the reported remarks that his wife confronted the women over the alleged relationships. Instead, he portrayed her as someone who continued to receive them warmly despite what she knew about his private affairs.

Quadri and Sadiat reportedly met in 1985 and married in 1989. Their marriage has been blessed with children and grandchildren.

Over the years, Quadri has established himself as a familiar face in Yoruba-language cinema, appearing in numerous productions as an actor and filmmaker. His long career has made him one of the recognised figures in the industry.
