Flight operations disrupted across Pakistan amid Gulf tensions

Flight operations at airports across Pakistan, including Lahore, have been affected by tensions involving Saudi Arabia and Gulf nations, resulting in daily flight delays and cancellations, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

PAA officials said numerous flights were experiencing delays and cancellations, causing difficulties for passengers travelling to various destinations, particularly cities in Saudi Arabia.

To facilitate affected passengers, the authority has established special assistance counters at airports across the country, including Lahore.

At Lahore airport, the passenger assistance counter has been established on Level 2, directly opposite the international departure entrance.

According to PAA officials, the counter will assist passengers whose direct flights to various Saudi cities have been cancelled or delayed.

The authority has instructed relevant airlines to deploy representatives at the designated counters whenever flights are cancelled or delayed.

Airline representatives will provide passengers with updated flight information, including revised departure times and the latest status of their flights.

PAA officials said necessary guidance and assistance would also be provided to passengers facing difficulties due to disruptions in flight schedules.

The authority has directed airlines to ensure full cooperation with affected passengers and take measures to minimize inconvenience caused by cancellations and delays.

Instructions have also been issued to ensure the availability of airline representatives at the designated passenger assistance counters.

PAA staff will remain available at the counters to coordinate with airlines and facilitate passengers requiring assistance.

The Pakistan Airports Authority said the arrangements were aimed at providing timely information and support to passengers affected by the ongoing disruption in flight operations.
