The suspect was arrested at Rethabile Gardens in Limpopo on Friday, 9 October 2026.
According to police, the case was opened at Lebowakgomo cop shop in 2025 following the alleged remarks.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the case docket was referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who directed that the suspect be arrested.
The Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigation Unit and Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit carried out the arrest, working with Tshimollo Security and Investigations.

Ledwaba said the team allegedly found the suspect in possession of a 9mm Norinco pistol with its serial number filed off, as well as 80 live rounds of ammunition.
A separate case involving the alleged possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition will be registered at Westernburg cop shop for further investigation.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 12 October 2026, in connection with the firearm and ammunition matter.
He is also expected to appear in the Lebowakgomo Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, in connection with the crimen injuria case.
According to Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Jan Scheepers praised the police teams for their dedication and teamwork.
Scheepers also praised the officers for carrying out the outstanding arrest warrant and recovering the firearm and ammunition allegedly found in the suspect’s possession, Ledwaba said.
