Julius Debrah Storms Home With Presidency Big Guns To Console Nana Oye Over Brother’s Sudden Death

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has visited the family of Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo to express condolences following the passing of her brother, Dr. Isaac Atteh Bampoe Addo.

Julius Debrah led a delegation representing the Presidency to the family home, where they offered words of sympathy and support to Nana Oye and her relatives as they come to terms with the bereavement.

The late Dr. Bampoe Addo was well known within Ghana’s labour sector, having served as Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG). In that role, he represented and advocated for the concerns of workers in the public sector.

He passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, reportedly following a brief illness. His death was confirmed at approximately 10 a.m., causing widespread sorrow among his colleagues and the organised labour community.

Dr. Bampoe Addo built a reputation as a strong advocate for workers and a leader who was willing to address issues affecting public employees. He also served as Chairman of the Forum of Public Sector Unions in addition to his responsibilities at CLOGSAG.

Although he was widely recognised for his professional contribution to Ghana’s labour movement, his passing has been particularly painful for his family. His sister, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has been left to mourn the loss of a close relative.

The decision by the Chief of Staff to personally lead the presidential delegation reflects the Presidency’s intention to support Nana Oye and her family during the period of mourning.

The visit further demonstrated solidarity from officials and colleagues at Jubilee House, with the delegation conveying sympathy to the family at a difficult time.

Nana Oye Bampoe Addo has become a recognised figure through her work in Ghana’s public service and political environment. Despite her public responsibilities, the death of her brother has brought the pain of personal bereavement into focus.

Meanwhile, funeral arrangements have been released, giving relatives, friends, colleagues and other sympathisers the opportunity to pay their final respects to Dr. Bampoe Addo.

The condolence visit is also a reminder of the importance of standing by families during times of loss. Bereavement affects everyone, regardless of social position, professional achievements or public office.

Dr. Isaac Atteh Bampoe Addo leaves behind a legacy linked to organised labour and his efforts to defend the interests of Ghana’s public sector workforce.

His family, friends and colleagues continue to mourn his passing as preparations are made to give him a final farewell. May his soul rest in peace, and may his loved ones be comforted as they go through this difficult period.
