Premier League football is back after a three week absence as action resumes with Arsenal facing Leeds in today’s early kick-off. It is a return to home comforts for the Gunners as they look for a response to being outclassed in a 3-0 loss to Brighton before the international break, a result that ended their unbeaten start to the season.

The next week or so will prove if what happened at the Amex Stadium was a blip or cause for concern, though chances are it was the former as Arsenal have won seven of their eight games across all competitions so far this campaign, six of which have come outside of London. Mikel Arteta, who celebrated signing a new contract earlier in the week, will make a late decision over Kai Havertz and Ezri Konsa after they returned from international with knocks, but has lost summer signing Christos Tzolis to injury.

Arsenal are unbeaten against Leeds in 16 games across all competitions, a run that stretches all the way back to May 2003.

The Gunners won both meetings last season, scoring nine goals and conceding zero.

GettyScore predictionArsenal have had three long weeks to sit with that 3-0 loss to Brighton and will be expected to come flying out of the traps early on.

However, the extended international break creates a layer of uncertainty and facing a Leeds side, still unbeaten in the league, will provide a difficult test to overcome.

That said, we think Arsenal will make home advantage count and get back to winning ways.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke has revealed Daniel James returned from international duty with a back injury and is set to miss out against Arsenal, alongside Joe Rodon (thigh) and Mateo Joseph (ACL).

Summer signings Jean-Matteo Bahoya (ankle) and Harry Wilson (muscle), though, are in contention to feature having taken part in training.

GettyArsenal team newsKai Havertz and Ezri Konsa are both doubtful for Arsenal after returning from international duty with knocks.

A hamstring issue sustained in Germany’s opening Nations League fixture forced Havertz to withdraw from the squad earlier than expected, while Konsa missed two of England’s four internationals.

Mikel Arteta will make a late decision on the pair and Declan Rice, but Christos Tzolis has joined William Saliba on the unavailable list.
