SARS announces important eFiling change

SARS has amended the existing rules of the Customs and Excise Act of 1964, extending compliance timeframes from six to eighteen months for businesses involved in customs activities.SARS Commissioner Ngobani Johnstone Makhabu authorised the updates, which are effective retroactively from 1 September 2025.The amendment applies to all traders and businesses that are registered or seeking accreditation under section 64E of the Customs and Excise Act of 1964.
