Officials Release 2,000 Cusecs of Water into Kakatiya Canal from SRSP

Hyderabad: Following instructions of higher authorities, water is released into kakatiya main canal from Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) with a discharge of 2000 cusecs at 9.45 am on Saturday and further discharge will be increased gradually.

In view of the impact of El Nino, officials asked farmers to use water judiciously. Pochampad Irrigation Circle Superintending Engineer V Jagdish advised farmers to use the released water properly and judiciously as there is not enough water in SRSP due to the El Nino effect.

According to officials, the total inflows into the project from June 1 2026 were 42.618 TMC while the total outflows were only 13.408 TMC.
