Police: Two women dead in shooting on Erie’s East Side

Two women are dead, and a suspect is barricaded in a house after an apparent shooting on Erie’s East Side.

That’s according to Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah who spoke with our reporters on the scene. He says they’re still securing the area.

Police responded to a call around 5:30 p.m. on Friday and have had the area of East 8th Street and Perry Street shut down.

SWAT crews and multiple law enforcement vehicles are still at the scene. The home where the suspect is barricaded appears to be in the 700 block of Perry Street.

This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as new information becomes available.
