Atiku: muck begets muck
Hardly any English phrase explains the Yoruba expression: “F’imu fin ‘le!” An “ear to the ground”, made popular by James Hadley Chase, in his crime-is-hopeless fictive series, doesn’t even come close!For the Yoruba, “f’imu fin ‘le” is the ultimate but cynical put down of a muck-craving fellow who, to sniff dirt about others, plugs his nose into the ground, thus clogging his nostrils with rubbish of all sorts, weight and shapes!
