Aisha Yesufu Reacts As Ex-Obi’s Supporters Declare For Tinubu, Name Group As Batified Obedients

Human Rights Activist and NDC Chieftain, Aisha Yesufu has reacted to the emergence of a political group reportedly formed by former supporters of NDC 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The group, identified as Batified Obidients, is reportedly led by Adesina Fagbenro-Byron and comprises former Obi supporters who have declared their support for Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.

According to the announcement, the group decided to back Tinubu after assessing him ahead of Obi in governance, competence and national capacity.

Reacting to the development, Yesufu, a prominent supporter of Obi, suggested that the decision to adopt a name associated with the former presidential candidate showed the strength of his political identity and influence.

“For everyone to want to use something of Peter Obi means Peter Obi is truly who he thinks he is and more!” she wrote on X.

The name Batified Obidients appears to combine “BAT,” a popular acronym for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with “Obidients,” the name commonly associated with Obi’s supporters.

The reported development comes as political alignments begin to take shape ahead of the 2027 general election, with politicians and supporters repositioning themselves across different political camps.
