Iran: We Have A Big Announcement Coming Up On Diesel; The Prices Will Come Tumbling – Trump

According to a report by Al Jazeera on Friday October 9, 2026, US President Donald Trump has hinted that a big announcement about diesel will be coming soon from his administration, and he also predicted that prices, which are getting close to record highs, will start to drop sharply soon.

From his vantage point in the White House, Trump hinted at an impending announcement regarding diesel supplies and prices, but he failed to elaborate on the nature of the planned development or the impact it would have on companies and consumers grappling with growing fuel expenses.

“We have a big announcement coming up on diesel, I think,” the US president said from the White House.

In addition, Trump connected his administration’s stance on Iran’s nuclear program to his hopes for falling prices, claiming that stopping Tehran from getting nuclear weapons would help bring about the predicted drop in energy costs.

“We stopped Iran from having a nuclear weapon,” Trump continued. “The prices will come tumbling, and it’s going to be over soon, one way or the other.”

He makes these comments at a time when diesel prices are still high, putting further financial strain on companies and sectors that use the fuel extensively for transportation, power generation, and other economic pursuits.

In an attempt to combat the precipitous spike in prices, the Trump administration has lately reached out to European nations for aid, urging them to release emergency diesel reserves.

In light of recent events, such as increased tensions with Iran and disturbances in the energy markets, this move reflects the rising anxiety over the accessibility and cost of diesel.

Still, Trump was vague about the announcement’s timing, the nations and markets it would address, and the policies his administration planned to implement.
