“Who Invented Corset?”- Mo Bimpe Laments After Struggling To Breathe In Outfit

Nollywood actress Bimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has vowed never to wear a corset again after describing how uncomfortable she felt wearing one to a recent event.

The actress, who is a mother of three, took to her Instagram page on Thursday, October 8, 2026, to express her frustration over the experience.

Speaking in a mixture of Yoruba and English, Mo Bimpe questioned who invented corsets, describing how uncomfortable the outfit made her feel. She even removed her headgear while expressing her displeasure in the video.

According to the actress, she only wore the corset because she was concerned about the criticism celebrities often receive from fans over their appearance.

She explained that social media users are quick to criticise celebrities who wear bubu outfits or fail to appear stylish enough. She also noted that some people resort to body-shaming, making negative comments about their stomachs and physical appearance.

Mo Bimpe suggested that the pressure to meet these expectations influenced her decision to wear the corset, despite the discomfort it caused her.

Recounting her ordeal, the actress revealed that she struggled to sit comfortably in the car during the journey. She also complained that breathing became difficult, while using the restroom turned into another unpleasant experience.

Following the ordeal, Mo Bimpe made it clear that she would not put herself through such discomfort again, regardless of the pressure to meet people’s fashion expectations.
