“It’s The Same God We Worship In Different Ways” – Yul Edochie Calls Out Pastor Enenche For Describing African Traditional Worship As A “Dark Practice”

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has tackled Nigerian clergyman Pastor Paul Enenche over his comments condemning African traditional worship, insisting that traditional practices are not fetish.

The actor reacted after the pastor reportedly described African traditional religion as a “dark practice” and argued that Christians should not patronise traditional worshippers or participate in related activities.

Enenche also criticised Christians who send money to their villages during traditional festivals, questioning their involvement in practices associated with African traditional religion.

Disagreeing with the preacher, Yul accused him of misleading people and argued that traditional worship should not automatically be equated with using spiritual practices to harm others.

Our traditional practices are not fetish.

It’s the same God we worship in different ways.

Traditional practice is different from doing Juju to hurt people.

A core traditionalist will never hurt anyone intentionally.

Africans are lost today because we abandoned our traditional practices that made us great and fully adopted the ways of Oyibo people.”

Yul’s comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some users supporting his defence of African traditions, while others argued that Christian beliefs do not permit the worship of other gods.
