“You Fought Obasanjo Over ₦3 Fuel Hike” – Oshiomhole Fumes As Interviewer Questions His Support For Tinubu Despite ₦1,400 Petrol

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has sparked reactions after an interviewer challenged him over his opposition to fuel price increases under former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his support for President Bola Tinubu amid rising petrol prices.

In a video circulating online, the interviewer questioned why Oshiomhole, who was then the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), mobilised Nigerians against fuel price increases of about ₦3 to ₦7 under Obasanjo but now supports Tinubu’s administration despite petrol prices reaching about ₦1,400 per litre.

Oshiomhole appeared agitated during the exchange, drawing further attention to the questions surrounding his changing position on fuel pricing.

The senator previously recalled how he mobilised residents of Ogun State to protest against Obasanjo’s proposed fuel subsidy removal, saying he was concerned about how the government would use the money saved from the policy.NewsTmes.com.ng+1

His current stance has now triggered criticism from social media users, with some accusing him of avoiding the interviewer’s questions and others calling for more journalists to hold politicians accountable during interviews.

@Vicbersong: He can’t respond, silly set of leaders we have in Nigeria!

@DaRealest9ja: We need strong reporters like this guy and Rufai Oseni to tackle these corrupt lots during interviews.

@SuleimanSaiduAb: Dude hypocrisy is obvious.

@Uchemgbeji: See moron, Adams is a big moronic crook. He fought Obaseki tooth and nail just to install a local champion Monday D7.

@BeautyAndrew3: Wow see dodging🤣🤣 Nigeria politician always looking for ways out of answering direct questions. It’s well🤭

@i_am_agbeke: Is there a part where he answered the question?

@AyodejiMicah: Life don hard .. Bro can’t speak 😢

@ShagiUba: He was just an Old man who was just looking for how to fill his stomach . Nigerians don’t be proud of your leaders

@Didierfredsimon: You’re not his oga, you’re a servant of the people. The moment Nigerians understand that public ‘servants’ are there to serve and not to lord, maybe then this country will change.
