After the Flood
Three years on from October 7, 2023, Gaza has become a hellscape, a wasteland of concrete and bones. An entire people have endured unimaginable suffering, while the world watched in livestreamed horror. The West Bank burns, with occupation and settler violence growing increasingly brazen. Across the Middle East, from Syria and Lebanon to Iraq, Iran and the Gulf, the consequences continue to reverberate.
In death, Yahya Sinwar’s words ring louder than ever. He called October 7 a flood, one that would expose Western power and its regional puppets. Three years later, the mask has been wrenched clean off. The looking glass has shattered. Israeli propaganda, its Hasbara, increasingly falls on deaf ears. Every false flag and propaganda piece is being seen through. Gaza has exposed the hypocrisy of a Western order that champions human rights while accommodating their wholesale destruction.

More importantly, the illusion of military invincibility has shattered. The overwhelming might of the United States and Israel, their missile defence shields, surveillance networks and extraordinary capacity for destruction, has failed to secure lasting victories. From Gaza and Lebanon to Iran and Yemen, technological superiority has proved no substitute for political legitimacy. Syria’s upheaval, through CIA-Mossad manipulation and subterfuge, cannot disguise this wider failure.
Sinwar likened Israel’s power to a cobweb, formidable only until its illusion of strength was broken.
There are still those who condemn October 7 as an atrocity and a war crime; many have to, for political appearances. Yet, for millions oppressed by the US-Israel-NATO order, the breaking of Gaza’s prison walls also symbolised defiance against seemingly insurmountable power.
Three years later, military might has failed to extinguish the Palestinian demand for freedom. Not only that, it has ignited the fire of resistance in millions of hearts worldwide.
