Wicked Father β€” Mason Jailed 35 Years With Hard Labour For Sleeping With His Two Own Daughters

The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) Court at the Police Headquarters in Accra has sentenced Charles Sedoh to 35 years in prison with hard labour.

The case was presided over by Her Honour Annette Sophia Essel.

The court heard that Sedoh, a mason by profession, had sexually abused his two daughters.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Opoku Aniagyei told the court that offences of this nature were becoming increasingly common in Ghana and urged the judge to impose a severe sentence that would serve as a deterrent to others.

The judge accepted the prosecution’s argument and sentenced Sedoh to 35 years’ imprisonment.

Under Ghanaian law, defilement refers to having sexual intercourse with a child below the age of 16, regardless of whether the child consented. A person convicted of the offence can receive a prison sentence ranging from seven to 25 years for each count.

Because Sedoh was found to have abused two children who were his own daughters, the court imposed a lengthy sentence to reflect the seriousness of the offence.

The judge emphasised that parents, particularly fathers, have a responsibility to protect their children rather than subject them to harm and jeopardise their future.

Sedoh will serve his 35-year prison term with hard labour.
