Nyansaho, Chume sign pacts to cement Tanzania–Mozambique ties in defence and security
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Ministers of Defence of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Mozambique, Dr Rhimo Nyansaho and Cristóvão Artur Chume, respectively, have officially concluded the Seventh Meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission for Defence and Security Cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting, held in Dar es Salaam, concluded with the signing of several agreements aimed at further strengthening Tanzania–Mozambique cooperation in defence and security, particularly in safeguarding peace, stability and the security of citizens in both countries.
The Seventh Meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission for Defence and Security Cooperation focused, among other issues, on advancing and strengthening the vision of the founding leaders of the two nations, Tanzania’s late Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, and Mozambique’s late President Samora Moisés Machel.

The two leaders laid a strong foundation for the historic, fraternal and strategic relations between Tanzania and Mozambique.
Their vision continues to be upheld and advanced by the current leaders of the two countries, President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan and President of the Republic of Mozambique Daniel Chapo, through efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
