Mussa Dankwah’s Latest Poll on 2028 Presidential Race Sparks Nationwide Debate Among Supporters
A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics has stirred fresh political discussion about the 2028 presidential race, particularly regarding how prominent NDC personalities could perform against former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP.
The poll, headed by Global InfoAnalytics CEO Mussa Dankwah and reported by TV3 Ghana, examined hypothetical contests involving four notable NDC figures. They included Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Haruna Iddrisu, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. Other political personalities, including Alan Kyerematen and Kwame Bediako, were also considered in the research.]
Among the NDC personalities tested, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson recorded the biggest lead over Dr. Bawumia. He obtained 55% support, while the former Vice President recorded 37%. Ato Forson’s support was reportedly even higher among respondents in the top income category, where he was said to have secured 72% backing from those earning 100,000 or more.
Haruna Iddrisu followed closely, securing 54% compared with Bawumia’s 38%. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang each received 51%, with Dr. Bawumia polling 39% in both scenarios.]
According to the survey, economic status appeared to influence the candidates’ levels of support. Dr. Bawumia reportedly enjoyed greater backing among lower- and middle-income respondents, while the NDC contenders tended to perform better among people in higher-income groups.
The poll has since generated heated reactions, especially across social media platforms. Some NPP supporters have questioned the methodology and credibility of the survey, with some accusing Global InfoAnalytics of producing results favourable to the NDC. Others have simply rejected the findings. Meanwhile, those defending the polling organisation have cited its previous election surveys as evidence of its reliability.
Observers have, however, warned against treating the figures as a prediction of what will happen in 2028. Opinion polls only provide a snapshot of public sentiment at a particular time, and voter preferences can change considerably as economic circumstances, government policies, political campaigns and major national developments unfold.]
Nevertheless, the survey has brought the possible 2028 contenders back into the spotlight and is likely to fuel further debate over the political landscape and the factors that could determine Ghana’s next presidential election.
